Founder & President
Sonia Malhotra

I Sonia Malhotra is a Founder President of the Women Fights against violence (WFAV ) a New York based Non profit organization .
As a practicing attorney from India and has won prominence through many precedent-setting cases in India over the course of more than 20 years . I had been handling cases with real estate , gender discrimination, sexual harassment, and victims rights, including domestic violence not limited to the court representations but with active involvements with social service platforms like legal aid , Law Rato and many more .

Having my law firm based in India , my decision of moving to United States was not planned . Facing life threats from ruling political parties being a paneled lawyer to the opposition parties forced me to take groundbreaking decisions for the sake of family that forever changed our lives for the better .

The fight to end violence against women and girls is universal. However, gender inequality is root cause of violence against women and girls . My organization story also started with a shared vision of ending violence against women , after having professional experiences and deep understanding of the need of support in the communities. Helping families in shelter having a safe place to move in added to the organization mission .

WFAV not only prevents gender-based violence and empower all survivors but act as a catalyst to Justice by advising and counseling the victims .

Escaping the cycle of violence, however, requires more than just a safe place to live. The Journey of WFAV is not limited to helping women who are in crisis meet basic needs for items such as food clothing and , housing but also helping them uplifting with knowledge to grow , learn , earn and be self independent

Making the courageous decision to leave an abusive relationship is the first step in a difficult journey. Our goal as an organization is to provide all of the tools and supports needed to ensure that women has what she need to move towards safety, independence and self-sufficiency. Thanks to WFAV there is a way out. No one is alone.

A small step once taken by the founder , a hand once given to help the community , is now a mission .
