Women Fights Against Violence Inc.
WFAV (Women Fights Against Violence Inc.) is a movement led by survivors, advocates, and community leaders who believe that violence should never be a life sentence.
Every day, women face unimaginable choices—stay in abusive homes or leave and risk homelessness, financial instability, or retaliation. At WFAV, we exist to interrupt that cycle and create safer alternatives.
Founded in New York by international human rights attorney Sonia Malhotra, WFAV was born from lived experience and advocacy. Sonia, after decades of fighting gender injustice in India, was forced to relocate due to political persecution. In the U.S., she began a new chapter, helping women across borders.
At WFAV, our strength lies in the passion, resilience, and commitment of our team. From seasoned legal advocates to grassroots organizers, each member brings lived experience, professional excellence, and an unshakable belief in justice for women. Together, we work across borders and barriers to ensure that every survivor is heard, protected, and empowered.
Every survivor deserves respect, healing, and dignity.
Every woman is worthy of true justice.
Empower women through knowledge, healing, and independence.
Together, we care, protect, and take action.
Behind every empowered woman is a community that chose to show up. At WFAV, our volunteers are more than helpers—they’re allies, mentors, advocates, and changemakers. Whether you have legal expertise, counseling skills, event coordination experience, or just a big heart and a few hours to give, there’s a place for you in our movement.
